A Weekend in ... Paris!

The city of love beckons for a weekend visit in early summer: long walks along the Seine, outstanding cuisine and unique fashion - love and life are equally in the air here.

There is so much to experience in Paris that the highlights have to be chosen wisely - history and style are around every corner. 37 bridges span the Seine, which winds its way through the city, some of them reminiscent of the splendour of bygone times as you stroll; modern buildings such as the Philharmonie or the private museum Fondation Louis Vuitton reflect the city's new momentum.

The French capital is the ultimate destination for gourmets. It is home to the world's most famous gourmet temples - from Le Cinq to L'Arpège and Épicure - and offers a remarkable selection of three-star restaurants. Freshly caught oysters and the finest wines from the Champagne region are just the beginning of culinary experiences in a class of their own. Gourmets enjoy their croissant with café au lait, a crisp baguette with salted butter or steak tartar from the bistro kitchen in a simpler yet stylish way. Shopping fans will get their money's worth along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. It boasts top luxury, but also offers space for smaller design brands. And best of all, the whole of Paris is dotted with stores offering the latest fashion trends.

Why is Paris worth a trip?

Because it is not only the city of love and lights but above all the hotspot for culinary delights.

Don't miss:

The luxurious Galeries Lafayette, the oldest department store in the city, and the Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir, which connect the hustle and bustle of the city and green spaces across the Seine.

What to see

Paris is full of exceptionally beautiful gardens. Designer Marin Montagut prefers to spend his free time in the Jardin du Luxembourg or at the Ferris wheel in the Jardin des Tuileries with a view of the whole city.

Where to Sleep

Maison Souquet

This luxurious Parisian hotel hides a lascivious piece of history. Architect Jacques Garcia has skillfully restaged the elegance, sensuality and frivolous opulence of this former brothel, creating a unique hotel that does justice to Paris' legendary Montmartre district and its disreputable past.
