July 6 - 8: Rolling Loud, Portugal

Rolling Loud is known as the world's largest hip-hop festival. It takes place several times a year at various locations in the USA. Always fixed are already the Rolling Loud Miami and New York. This summer, hip acts and up-and-coming talents will be celebrating in Europe for the first time. More precisely: at Praia da Rocha in the Portuguese coastal town of Portimão.

 

July 8-9: Underwater Music Festival, Florida

You could also call it Rock on the Reef, because the unusual festival at Looe Key Reef in the Lower Florida Keys offers snorkelers and divers beautiful underwater worlds on the one hand and live music and performances by mermaids on the other. Nice side effect of the Underwater Music Festivals: the participants will learn a lot about reef care and the conservation of the sea ecosystem. Participation is free of charge.

 

July 13-16: Colors of Ostrava, Czech Republic

The international multi-genre festival surprises with a top-class line-up every year. The festival in the summer of 2022, for example, scores with greats like ZAZ, Rag'n'Bone Man, Florence + The Machine, The Cure and many more. Colors of Ostrava is one of the top ten largest music festivals in Europe.

 

July 15-24: Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, Scotland

For more than ten years now, the greats of the genre have been giving each other the KLinke at the EJBF. This year Ambrose Akinmusire, Zac Harmon and Co. will give over 130 concerts. The line-up consists equally of Scottish and international bands.

 

July 15-31: Tomorrowland, Boom/Belgium

Since 2005, thousands of electronic dance music fans have made an annual pilgrimage to Boom, Belgium, to party together in a fairytale setting. The 2019 edition, held over two weekends, brought a record attendance of 400,000 people. This year, the celebration will take place over three weekends. Headliners include Armin Van Buuren, Martin Garrix, Paul Kalkbrenner and Eric Prydz. From September, "Terra Solis" also opens in the Dubai desert as a relaxation destination for EDM and Tomorrowland fans.

 

July 28-31: Lollapalooza, Chicago/Illinois

With a focus on alternative rock, rap and punk rock bands, Lollapalooza has been a fixture on the festival calendar since its first edition in 1991. This year, the original, which takes place in Chicago, scores with headliners like Metallica, Dua Lipa, Machine Gun Kelly, Green Day and Charli XCX.

 

August 10-15: Sziget, Budapest/Hungary

The festival on the Danube Island Obuda near the Hungarian capital is a mecca for festival fans. Since, in addition to top-class music acts, theatre performances, workshops and the like also take place, it is now considered the European version of the legendary Burning Man Festival in Nevada. In addition, there are sky bars and thermal baths.

 

August 21-25: Sonus Festival, Croatia

It is the common passion for electronic music that attracts festival fans to the paradisiacal island of Pag every summer. For five days and four nights, people party here with DJ sets on the beach, by the pool and on boats. This year, Sven Väth, Amelie Lens, Chris Liebing and Monika Kruse are on the program.

 

August 28 to September 5: Burning Man, Black Rock Desert/Nevada

What began in 1986 with 20 participants at Baker Beach in San Francisco now takes place with more than 75,000 people in the desert, 150 kilometres from Reno. The central point of the program every year on the sixth day is the burning of an oversized statue. What else is there? Art exhibitions, self-expression, parties and music.
