It would be truly hard to beat the ambience of the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa. Located on a small group of islands in the North Malé Atoll, the resort juts directly out of the turquoise sea, a small line of luxurious villas surrounded by coral reefs. White sands and flower gardens add to the paradisiacal charm. A private spa island, four excellent restaurants, a diving center and numerous activities for young and old complete the idyllic picture.

Accessible from the airport by private boat, the resort feels like a (highly exclusive) Maldivian village. The 96 rooms and suites are inspired by local architecture, with design elements like thatched roofs, teak interiors, rattan, and decorative lattices and columns. Many of the villas are built directly over the water - so you can dive into the sea right from your room.

Alternately, you can simply enjoy yourself by the pool – the resort has a large infinity pool and a children's basin overlooking the ocean. Additionally, all villas also have their own swimming pool. Fitness is provided by a 150-square-meter area on the east side, which offers spectacular sunrises complete with ocean panoramas. Among other activities, group yoga is offered as well as private sessions with the resident yogi.

The spa area is a special highlight; it's on its own island and reachable by dhoni (a traditional Maldivian fishing boat). It's all the easier to relax when surrounded by palm trees and with a view of the sea; the extensive wellness program including natural products from OSEA with seaweed and sea salt do the rest. In addition to a private garden in the courtyard with an open-air shower, there is another very special feature: a glass porthole is built into the floor under each massage bed so that guests can enjoy a view underwater during treatments.

There is also a night spa on the roof terrace, where you can relax amid the treetops under tropical stars. Thanks to their "Visiting Practitioners"program, you can even book experts from around the world for special sessions.

Four restaurants and a poolside bar ensure that guests are well catered for. Local ingredients like coconut, fresh tuna or Mahi-mahi dominate the menu, while signature dishes like the Baraabaru Raan Pot - an organic leg of lamb roasted in a tandoor - or Maldivian lobster curry showcase the flavors of the islands.

As a special treat this year, the celebrated pioneer of modern Indian cuisine, Hari Nayak, is completing a residency at the flagship restaurant Baraabaru. You can meet the master chef from October 5 to 10; additional dates are planned for spring and summer 2024.

Thanks to its unique location, you certainly won't get bored at the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa. Parasailing, windsurfing, water-skiing, jet skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, and cooking classes at the Baraaabaru restaurant are all on the menu. Younger guests aren't left out, either: the Kuda Mas ("little fish") Club offers kid-friendly activities from crafts to yoga sessions, while the Furaavaru Teen Centre provides plenty of movies, board games, and video games for young adults. The spa also has a special menu for younger ones, with 12 different treatments for 6- to 16-year-olds.

If you'd like to try your hand at riding the Maldives' world-famous breaks, you can learn the necessary skills at the surf school – and then head straight out to chase the waves in a flying boat. Prefer to explore underwater? There are over 30 beautiful dive sites full of coral reefs, sea turtles and whale sharks in the immediate vicinity – and the possibility to earn your diving license at the PADI 5-star IDC center. To top it all off, there are (among other things) dolphin tours, snorkeling safaris, beach picnics – and the Four Seasons Explorer, a catamaran you can book for 3-, 4-, or 7-night-cruises. And if you do find yourself lacking something, all you have to do is ask – the famous Four Seasons staff is happy to cater to every request.
