Bellini Pop-up in St. Moritz: Cipriani Meets Suvretta House

From February 9 to 11, 2024, two icons meet on the high plateau above St. Moritz: The Bellini Pop-Up Bar brings dolce vita to the ski resort!

December 21, 2023

Is there much more to say about Cipriani? Probably not. After all, the Cipriais invented Bellini and carpaccio. Celebrities such as Charlie Chaplin and Ernest Hemingway were entertained by them. And over the more than 90-year history of the company, which began with the famous Harry's Bar in Venice, the one-man show developed into a small empire. It now has more than 20 restaurants and bars and five hotels. The latest among them: A Bellini pop-up, which will be making a guest appearance at Suvretta House from February 9 to 11.

Elegance on the Adriatic and in the Alps

While the interior of Harry's Bar in Venice is deliberately as simple today as it was back in the 1930s, Suvretta House is the complete opposite. The honorable hotel exudes noble elegance. The hotel can now look back on over 100 years of history. Built in 1911 by Swiss hotel pioneer Anton Bon, the grand hotel is still family-owned today. Directly on the Suvretta slope of St. Moritz, guests enjoy the 1,700 square meter wellness area, swim lengths in the pool and enjoy culinary variety in the Grand Restaurant or in the Suvretta Stube.

The traditional hotel lobby is the heart of the hotel. Guests have been meeting here for a century. At any time of day or night, they take their tea in the lobby, read the newspaper or enjoy a drink or two. And it's precisely here that the Cipriani family will now symbolically keep the Candrian-Bon family, the owners, company for a short time. The Bellini Pop-Up Bar allows guests to order the original cult drink and feel a bit like in the 1930s. You'd almost think Truman Capote and Peggy Guggenheim - also admirers of the white peach and Prosecco drink - were looking over your shoulder.

At Suvretta House - unlike the original in Venice - you sit on beautiful furniture or at an elegant, wood-paneled bar. The hotel lobby is a thoroughly worthy setting for the legendary and delicious drink. In the Bellini pop-up bar, it probably doesn't come ready-mixed from the bottle either. Also a tip: You should try the delicious afternoon tea!
